Students

Students never need an account, a login or an email address to use SciSim.
The result code is made in the student's own browser from what they did on the page (time, activities, quiz score) and the name they type. It is not sent to us; the student copies it to their teacher.
Progress (missions, quiz results) is kept only in the browser on that device. The name typed for a result code is remembered only until the browser tab is closed.
Our email list is for adults. Students should not sign up.

If you sign up, we store your email address, the role and grade level you choose, the page you signed up on, the date, and your country (from your network). We also keep a one-way hash of your IP address and your browser's user-agent text, for spam protection only.
When you sign up, the SciSim owner gets a private notification (Telegram) with your email address, role and grade, so new sign-ups can be checked quickly.
We use this only to email you about new SciSim simulations, worksheets and lesson packs (about once a week). We do not sell or share your email.
Unsubscribe at any time: use the link in any email, or write to [email protected] and we delete your address.
The list is stored in our Cloudflare account (Cloudflare D1). Emails may later be sent through an email service provider that processes your address on our behalf.

We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which activities are used (for example "quiz finished"). We do not send names, emails or result codes to Google Analytics.
You can turn analytics off for your browser by adding ?notrack=1 to any SciSim address.

Teachers may embed SciSim simulation pages in their own course pages. The same rules apply inside an embedded page.
